A Season of Learning and Practice

Updated: 6 days ago

From the Steward of Harmony

One of the guiding ideas behind The Tranquil Path has always been simple: mindfulness is not something reserved for retreats or quiet corners of the internet. It belongs in the real world, in our communities, and in the rhythms of everyday life.

This spring I’m thrilled to be bringing that spirit into the classroom through the Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL) at Roane State Community College here in Crossville.

Mindfulness Meditation at the Center for Lifelong Learning

As part of the Spring 2026 semester, I’ll be teaching a four-week course titled:

Mindfulness Meditation: Finding the Calm in the Present Moment.

The course is designed to be welcoming and accessible to everyone. No previous meditation experience is required. Each session will begin with a short conversation about mindfulness; what it is, how it works, and how it can support clarity and resilience in daily life, followed by a guided meditation practice.

Class Schedule:

Tuesdays: March 10, March 17, March 24, and March 31 2:30 – 3:30 PM

Classes take place through the Center for Lifelong Learning at Roane State Community College in Crossville.

The CLL program is a fantastic community effort that brings together volunteer instructors and curious learners from across Cumberland County and the surrounding area. It offers short courses throughout the year on topics ranging from history and science to technology, art, and health.

Participation requires membership in CLL, which supports the program and allows students to register for classes.

Ongoing Mindfulness Sessions

While the class at Roane State offers an in-person opportunity to learn and practice together, mindfulness practice is something that grows through consistency. That’s why I continue to host regular online sessions through the More Mindfulness community.

These sessions are open and welcoming to anyone interested in practicing together.

Current offerings include:

Tuesday – 12:00 PM EST Mindfulness Meditation (hosted by me)

Thursday – 12:00 PM EST Mindfulness Meditation

Friday – 12:00 PM EST Mindful Movement

All sessions are held online through Google Meet, making them accessible wherever you are.

Updates at The Tranquil Path

Behind the scenes, I’ve been eagerly working to expand what The Tranquil Path can offer.

Over the coming months you will begin to see several exciting new features appearing on the website, including:

  • A meditation library with guided practices and resources

  • The ability to support the work of The Tranquil Path through donations

  • The development of membership tiers to help sustain programs and expand offerings

The goal is simple: to create a space where people can return again and again for practical tools that support calm, clarity, and connection.

Mindfulness is not about escaping life. It’s about learning to meet it fully.

Whether you join us in the classroom at Roane State, online through the More Mindfulness sessions, or simply explore the resources as they grow here on the site, I’m grateful you are part of this path.

Thank you for walking it with me.

With gratitude,

Mike Croley
